NV bannerCFUW North Vancouver Interest Groups provide opportunities for members to meet, pursue common interests and build community.

Art Hop
Monthly art walks in the Lower Mainland explore new art shows, established galleries, art studios and find artistic surprises.  Members take turns organizing times and places. Includes coffee or lunch.

Book Discussion
This book club meets the last Tuesday of each month at 11:30 AM after the Walking Group. Members bring an item for a potluck lunch.

Bridge
Meets at 1 PM on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in homes of members. Lovely food, fabulous friends and satisfying Chicago style bridge.   A loonie per meeting provides prizes.  Spares are welcome.

Community Issues & Advocacy Group [formerly Community Studies]
This is a joint CFUW North Van/West Van morning interest group that studies issues, mainly those affecting women and children and those relating to North Shore. The group concentrates on self-education and advocacy.  Meets the 2nd Friday of the month from 10 AM to noon

Community Action
An Ad-Hoc group formed at the request of the Executive Committee to work on social justice and women’s and children’s rights issues, often but not always, reaching out to the greater community in some manner: as determined the by the North Vancouver club.

Dining Divas
Club members (and their partner or special friend) get together to wine and dine and have a nice evening together. Options include: The Gourmet Group (meet three times a year in members’ homes), Dining Out (members decide in advance where, when and how often to dine out), Informal Dinner Group (around a special event or theme) and International Diners (who chose ethnic restaurants to dine out or in together).

Financial Literacy Group
This is a joint CFUW North / West Vancouver group. Speakers are often invited to give a presentation and do a Q and A plus members use the case studies devised by the University Women’s Club of Montreal titled Beginning the Conversation: 15 Case Studies in Financial Literacy.

International Studies
This joint North and West Vancouver group, and CFUW as a whole, has UN and GWI links. Members explore international issues affecting women. Meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:30 PM

Mah Jong
Meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month from noon to 3:00 pm. Bring your own lunch and learn to play.

Meander & Munch
Seek the unique and then eat! For people dedicated to walking in different neighbourhoods, window shopping and hunting for interesting eats.  The journey is half the fun! Meets monthly, mainly on a Monday around 10:00 pm for a jaunt and lunch.

Pitch and Putt
Novices welcome. Meet Monday mornings once the weather turns nice at Ambleside Park. Weather dependent.

Poetry and Collage
A new group which will meet six times during the year for members to experiment with, learn and share their artistic and literary interests. Time to be determined.

Tea and Trumpets
For those with a love of music. Members buy group tickets to this Thursday afternoon VSO series.

Technology/Web Group
A joint group of the North and West Vancouver clubs, members meet to exchange information about technology. Discussion topics include computers, the Internet, various new digital hardware, and our website. Meetings are at 7:15 PM Tuesday evenings four or five times throughout the year.

Walking Group
Meets at about 10 am for a 1 – 1.5 hour walk at various locations in North and West Vancouver.  Schedule emailed monthly to members.

Interest and Study Groups are open to all paid up club members.
